The 2012 Halton Youth Symphony Collection
In 2012, Fibrations joined forces with the fundraising committee of the Halton Youth Symphony to create a special auction of art in support of the Chamber and Symphony orchestras.
The art was initially showcased at a Private Art Viewing and Wine & Cheese Reception on May 1, 2012 at King’s Christian Collegiate, Oakville.
From May 2 to May 27, 2012 the works were on continuous display at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre in downtown Burlington, and bids were accepted both in person and online. The final bids were placed after orchestra’ concert on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Burlington Centre. All proceeds were donated to Halton Youth Symphony.

The Halton Youth Symphony’s mission is to inspire, encourage and challenge young musicians to build their musical skills through the experience of various forms of orchestral music. We strive to create an enjoyable environment that promotes teamwork, leadership and community involvement.
The HYS began at Appleby College Chapel in 1975 under the direction of Jean Grieve. During the first season, there were only twelve musicians. Known first as the Oakville Youth Symphony, then as the Sheridan Symphony, the Halton Youth Symphony has now grown to include almost 100 musicians in two orchestras — The Halton Youth Chamber Orchestra (ages 9 to 14) and the Halton Youth Symphony Orchestra (ages 12 to 19).
